On this day 25th April - ANZAC Day - we remember the men and women who lost their lives for this country and those that came home forever changed.
It is not possible this year to stand side by side with thousands at the entrance to the Shrine of Remembrance to hear the moving sound of the bugle ringing out at dawn. Nor can we stand on the beach or the hills at ANZAC cove. Perhaps this symbolises the quiet that fell over the cove when the weary soldiers made their way home.
We will have new ways of remembering this year - and we will not forget.
